Do Implants really spark Joy?

The entire humankind loves food. The mouthwatering flavors, the different textures of each item sparks joy for us when we bite into them. To savor our meals, we would need healthy teeth as well of course. Dentures have become things of the past only used in extreme clinical scenarios or as a temporary solution.

We have been told that we should be grateful for what God has given us and what we are born with. Teeth may not be perfect but still we have to cherish them as a part of our body. They help in eating, hinting if something is too hot or cold or too hard to bite into. Apart from just eating they give shape to the Lips and act as pillars of support to the lower third of our face. Not to forget they are literally the reason behind your smile - its visibility.

In case you happen to have a shaking tooth, would you replace it with long lasting Implants or give your tooth a second chance to hold on?

Nothing can take the place of teeth, when they are completely absent Implants are the next best thing but not substitutes. When one has an infection, the immediate response is not to amputate the body, but to fight the problem. All causes for teeth mobility cannot always be treated, but mankind doesn’t even want to try, they just want the easy way out - the less painful, less cumbersome solution. If your dentist suggests even a remote possibility to keep your teeth, by all means hold onto it with both hands. Despite the scary instruments, recurrent sensitivity, periodic visits and scary surgeries, always hold onto teeth CAUSE THE ONES WHO WOULD ADVICE YOU TO HOLD ONTO YOUR TEETH ARE THE ONES WHO HAVE ALREADY LOST THEIRS and Implants are just not the same. (Second at best)

Consider it before your next meal…

Losing your Wisdom

Imagine - turning 18 is quite the milestone, most of us are done with School forever, eager to enter onto a new phase of life – Adulthood. But wait, if you count all the teeth in your mouth, chances are there would be 28 teeth in most of us. Didn’t school just teach us that an adult would have 32 teeth in total?

After the age of 18 a tooth starts ripping its way out behind your “supposed last tooth”. Those my friends are wisdom teeth. It comes quite late in life, between 18 and 90. 4 of the wisdom teeth decide to enter late in the mouth at different times, probably delayed by the traffic.

It’s not easy for these teeth to simply tear the gums and find its place. The gums above the wisdom tooth are very tough, common site for swelling and sometimes infection. Most times the erupted teeth are already crowded and have filled the space in the upper and lower jaw. The third molar is quite accommodating, it tries to slide in sideways into any empty space. (This usually happens in the lower jaw).

Many a times it’s not so wise a tooth. If the tooth is tilted or half in, it’s unlikely that it’ll ever come out. Such times it would be wiser to remove this tooth to preserve the others.

So, to all grown-ups out there, do visit your dentist regularly so that, we could keep an eye on those wise little teeth.

Why brush twice a day?

From childhood we’ve been told to brush twice a day. Your dentist also recommends the same every visit. But honestly how many of us actually...
